I don't know about you, but it feels that during lock down my phone has never worked so hard to take photos of my surroundings, my toddler and my baking! I have come to conclusion (after seeing mostly blurred images of my 2-year old and out of focus cupcake shots) that photography needs a lot of creativity, patience and talent... heaps of talent.
It is therefore very fitting that today for our first ever blog post we chat to Anina, owner of Anina Harmse Photography. She is an award winning photographer based here in the Garden Route.
How would you describe your photography style and what do you specialize in? I am a portrait and wedding photographer. My style is often described as romantic and organic.
How did you land yourself in such an exciting career? It started off as a hobby about 14 years ago and it just took off from there.
Where is your favourite place to take images? Any place where I can get that stunning golden light.
What do enjoy most about the Garden Route? Any traveling
suggestions for visitors? The Garden Route is the most beautiful place to live in. I lived here my whole life and cannot imagine living somewhere else. My favourite place to go at the moment is The Merchant or Krotoa in Mossel Bay
What would you advise to aspiring photographers? Educate yourself and practice a lot.
What is the first thing you want to do once lockdown has passed? A few things come to mind haha, but I would say taking my two boys for an ice-cream and maybe at the Redberry Farm in George.
Make sure you visit Anina's website to see more of her beautiful work!
