Hartenbos Private Game Lodge is a privately-owned game farm situated in the malaria-free region of Hartenbos in Mossel Bay with a variety of wildlife. This 4 star graded game lodge offers: Superior Accommodation, Dinner & Breakfast, Game Drives and Quad Rides, Mountain biking (own bicycles), Hiking trails, Birdwatching, Games Room with Pool Table, Self catering Facilities, Braai/Barbeque Facilities, Sundowner Deck, Swimming Pool, 4 Lounges for relaxing/ reading, Free WiFi and a Fireplace at the main lodge.
Hartenbos Private Game Lodge is located along the Garden Route, 18 km from Hartenbos Beach and Langeberg Mall. Mossel Bay is 15 minutes’ drive away with the best blue flag beaches, restaurants and numerous activities such as Shark diving, Helicopter rides, Skydiving and fishing trips and George Airport is a 40-minute drive from the lodge.
What can one expect on a visit to your lodge?
Guests can relax in the pool or in the lounge areas or on the sundowner deck and enjoy an ice-cold drink/cold drink from our bar whilst enjoying the peace and quiet of the farm, surrounded by evergreen Fynbos, animals, birds and breath-taking views of the hills and valleys all the way to the Outeniqua Mountains.
Game drives and Quad rides are offered twice a day – early in the morning with coffee and rusks and/or late afternoon with sundowners at the look out point. Depending on the time of the year of your visit, experience the change of the seasons during winter as the grasslands give way to the yellows of autumn or witness the revival of nature as the rain falls during summer with the exciting arrival of lambing season.
What wildlife do you have at the lodge?
The farm is rich in fynbos, with 20+ species of antelope, giraffe, zebra & 135 species of birds. Animal such as Bontebok, Rietbok, Nyala, Impala, Springbok, Kudu, Eland, Blou Wildebees, Giraffe, Zebra, Bosbok, Rooihart Bees, Sable and Golden Gnu freely roam the fields at Hartenbos Private Game Lodge. In addition, although not always visible, Aardwolf, Caracal, Jackal, Cape Hare and Honey badgers have also settled in on the game farm.
Be sure to keep an eye out for Porcupine quills, they are a great souvenir to take home as a gift from nature.
